The Role of Evidence in History/Social Studies FILLING

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

Limited Capacity filling up

What role does evidence play across the 6-12 grade bands in literacy in history and social studies, and how is it integrated into reading, writing, speaking and listening?

In this 90 minute session, we will not only discover the answers to those two questions, but participants will learn some strategies to help students:
• use close reading to identify textual evidence and annotate their thinking.
• engage in classroom discourse to both enrich their thinking and rehearse using evidence from text and other sources to support claims (arguments) in writing.

We will also view some great videos of classrooms-in-action and highlight some exceptional resources.
